USA Archery Level 1 & 2 Instructor Certification and Level 3 NTS Coach Certification courses take place in TWO PARTS:
- Part 1 is an ONLINE, self-paced course that you register for and take on the USA ARCHERY EDUCATION HUB. (the dark red “more info” buttons below will take you to the corresponding USA Archery web pages)
- Part 2 is a PRACTICAL course that takes place in person and is scheduled separately with a USA Archery Certified Instructor Trainer AFTER successful completion of Part 1 online. Registration for a Practical course will not be open to you before successful completion of Part 1.
NOTE: Coach Tom Hinojosa has been given approval by USA Archery to teach Part 2 Practical courses online only to those who cannot locate an in-person Practical course within 100 miles of their geographical location OR cannot locate an in-person Practical taking place within the time frame that their employer states certification must be completed.
Coach Tom’s online Practical courses are scheduled to fit around his busy travel schedule and there is a strict minimum of 4 students per course.

TO COMPLETE YOUR CERTIFICATION:
FIRST: Click the appropriate button below to go to the USA Archery site to register for and complete the online Part 1 course.
SECOND: AFTER successful completion of Part 1, register for and complete a Practical course for your certification level.
THIRD: IF you fit within the parameters above regarding taking an online Practical, return to this page and CLICK HERE for information on registering for a course taught by Coach Tom.
If you need certification before a specific date, you must plan well ahead of time to make that happen for yourself.

Coach Tom is USA Archery trained and certified. USA Archery certification is contingent upon passing a national background check and completion of the Safe Sport training program.

Coach Tom has over 35 years of experience in education and outdoor recreation instruction with a degree in Human Biology from Stanford University.
He achieved USA Archery Level 5 NTS Coach certification in 2022.
Coach Tom has coached students to World Archery Youth Indoor Championships, Top 10 National Rankings, USA Archery Junior Dream Team, USA Archery Regional Dream Team, State Indoor Champions, and has worked with international Olympic archers. He has also been a volunteer coach for the Valor Games for wounded military personnel.
Coach Tom is able to coach/instruct in multiple styles including recurve, long bow, and compound bows.
He began offering private lessons in 2003 when families came to the range looking for qualified instruction. His program quickly grew to include more than 80 students each week supervised by himself and a team of assistant instructors.
Interest in more advanced training and tournament participation led to the formation of a competition team which resulted in archers achieving placement on international youth USA Archery teams and top 10 rankings in both state and national categories. In 2019 he trained an individual archer from beginner to participation in the 2020 USA Olympic Trials in only 15 months by expertly integrating mental, physical, and technical training for accelerated high performance in competition.
Coach Tom teaches the National Training System (NTS), former USA Archery Head Coach Kisik Lee’s approach to archery. He is also familiar with other approaches/techniques for recurve archery.
He is a full time, professional archery coach, specializing in coaching elite archers who are focused on attaining their competitive goals.
Coach Tom provides elite archer coaching in person in Denver, Colorado as well as online for those in other parts of the country and world.
